Tivoli Audio Model Subwoofer, Cherry/Metallic Taupe

For the critical listener looking to get the most from their music, computer games, or television sound, the diminutive Model Subwoofer extends the Tivoli Audio's Model Two Stereo Radio and Model Three Clock Radio's bass response by a half-octave. Don't confuse the Model Subwoofer with inexpensive computer speaker subwoofers with sloppy bass. The Model Subwoofer's 5 ¼" bass driver, 20 watt internal amplifier, front ported design, and cherry wood cabinet all translate into rich, musical sound. The Boston Globe said the Model Subwoofer "adds heft and foundation to the music. And it's fairly tight, not too thumpy." Features include an Auto On/Standby circuit, an unusual feature for a subwoofer of this size, which activates the subwoofer automatically when it receives a signal and places it in standby when the signal is absent. A power on LED indicator signal when a signal is being received and notes when the unit is in standby mode.

"Required reading" to include the sub, here's why: With Eagle Eye First and foremost, I see that there is some "controversy here on the flute, and if the sub is worth it. I hope to clarify this in simple terms. For To begin with, I have an audiophile quality system. Conrad Johnson, Tandberg, NAD, Celestion components, although they have moved into a new house, I had no desire to see all these components and speakers in my living room with new hardwood floors. I had hoped that this system fits the bill with the sub, but it was a bit skeptical after reading reviews here. So here is my vote. Get Model 2, and a few sub. It's worth it, but you will never "heard "it until it is set correctly. First and foremost, I'm ham, and all can say you're only as good as your antenna. I used a full-size FM antenna mount roof as my relationship to the past, but I do not want that on my roof. I replaced the very well with the Radio Shack 15-1859 for $ 2,499. However, as the speakers, location is everything. I put the earphones and tuned to a difficult season, then move the antenna until it is clear that I do without the device, without being in front of the speakers to listen. Wa is .. After a few minutes of testing, I hit the mark completely noisless and with it, perfect spatial separation. Then I found that speaker placement is very important to get the right sound environment to set and get "as it was meant to be heard 'divorce. But I have the sub, but for now, leave it off. Also do not trust leaving the balance in the middle. I had to adjust, so do not be afraid of. Try some of Andres Segovia and maintaining the balance setting until the "open air" in the audience threw Listen to achieve an outcome space. Then you're set. Now put your sub. In addition, for those who say that the sub is not necessary. Fooey. It 'worth it, and provides the third leg of the triangle is high time that this system can do once everything is set, is the knock-out. And 'course, and yes, once again, the submarine is "necessary" and it's worth. For references on this system can do, try to Patrick O'Hearn / Metaphor, Andreas Vollenweider / Book Of Roses, and Tower of Power / Soul Vaccination (Live). They allow you to hear what this baby can do. A little 'how to drive a Porsche on a straight road at 40 miles per hour, and saying "not so hot." Context is everything. I hope that helped. Again, what I found were to ask, signal quality, the president of the placement / balance adjustment, not under, and under added. For me, this system is a keeper, will keep my old system stored audio for now. For my right to "invisible" components, and "is that from there?" performance, led the pack and win big. Go ahead. This is a rare and very precious. 16 of 16 people found this review helpful You will not regret it. For a customer Tivoli Model Two radio sounds good by itself, but the model for the subwoofer gives just a little more shine on the bottom that makes it even better. I had serious doubts about the operation of a "subwoofer" with only a 5.25 "speaker, but this little thing that really works. Bajas have more volume and power, but the subwoofer does not draw attention to itself, or misbehave tubby sounding. The the effect is subtle, and not necessarily appear in all materials, but in my installation, benefited from the music of Mannheim Steamroller Robert Cray David Sanborn from contributions sub. The small cabinet is easy to hide if needed, but it looks good enough to be placed in it too openly. Volume control is useful for tailoring the sound to your location. You can get pretty good without a subwoofer model, but once again listen to it, be glad you spent the eighty dollars.
